Quinten Hermans crashed in the second lap. The third lap saw Iserbyt drop back to the main group. Van der Poel was able to get a lead of seven seconds, but van Aert and Pidcock forced him back.
Pidcock and van Aert separated themselves from the Dutchman at the start of the final lap. He was giving his best, but the gap of 10 seconds was too much for him. It was a bloody duel, between the Brit and the Belgian and
Wout van Aert came out on top to celebrate his fourth victory of the season.
Tom Pidcock finished second.
Mathieu van der Poel took the bronze.
