Felipe Orts seeks to make history for Spain at World Cyclocross Championships: "We come with our homework done and the desire to give our all"

In Tabor, Czech Republic, the eagerly awaited 2024 Cyclocross World Championship takes place today, where the world's best cyclists will compete on a challenging course. Mathieu van der Poel emerges as the big favourite for victory.

For his part, Felipe Orts, the reigning Spanish champion, will be aiming for an outstanding performance in the championship. With optimism and determination, Orts expressed his motivation before the race: "We come to fight with our homework done, good feelings and desire to give our all. At 14:30 the Czech mud awaits us," he shared in his previous statements on social networks.

Orts, who has proven to be a solid competitor in the World Cup or the Superprestige this campaign, dreams of a Top 5 in the Czech event. His focus and meticulous preparation back up his ambition to excel on an international stage.

This season Felipe has achieved a podium in Loenhout in a race won by Mathieu van der Poel. He was sixth in Gullegem, eighth in Benidorm and ninth in the last World Cup race in Hoogergheide. Before that, between October and November, he had several top 5 finishes in Maasmechelen, Niel or Merksplas. There is no doubt that he is among the best.

He has never been top 10 in a CX World Championship, will this be his year?
