Primoz Roglic is going to be heading to Mount Teide in Tenerife soon, together at least with the likes of Aleksandr Vlasov and Jai Hindley. The
Tour de France preparation is on it's way with the
BORA - hansgrohe rider despite the delay caused by the crashes at Itzulia Basque Country.
“I don’t know if Primož is watching the Giro or not. But I do know I’ll be seeing him soon for another recon of the Pyrenees and then we go to altitude. Then we’ll go together to the Dauphine," Rolf Aldag, BORA DS, told Cyclingnews at the Giro d'Italia. “So Primož has to live with the fact that he’s going to see me more in the next two months than his wife and family," he jokes.
The team is currently having a good Giro d'Italia; over the opening weekend Daniel Martínez showed his best level and is currently in third position in the overall classification. If he is consistent throughout the race, a podium is very well possible, whilst Florian Lipowitz also impressed up the Santuario di Oropa. But another part of the team focuses exclusively on the Tour right now, where there isn't stress or rush anymore to recover from his injuries of last month.
“But things are looking very positive. For sure he lost time, for sure we would have loved to win the Itzulia Basque Country GC with him, that’s also clear. But now, I think he was doing really well," Aldag assures. "That result is not there, but obviously we at least have Paris-Nice, which didn’t work out as planned, but we had some very positive signs."
