It was a rather uneventful day for
Team Visma | Lease a Bike on stage 4 of
Tirreno-Adriatico, as the team got through the stage largely unscathed, barring a small crash involving
Attila Valter and INEOS Grenadiers rider Magnus Sheffield on a hairpin turn with around 42km to go.
In fact, the most shocking part of the stage from the team’s perspective would probably be that
Jonas Vingegaard managed to stay up towards the front in the finale to finish eleventh on the stage, in what was a chaotic finale where the peloton were attempting to chase down the persistent Jonas Abrahamsen.
Speaking to Visma | Lease a Bike after the stage, sports director
Grischa Niermann summarised the team’s day, as he said that “we didn't have very much to win today. There was a very good chance it would turn out to be another bunch sprint. Like yesterday, it was cold and wet again. However, the guys coped well with those circumstances. Our main goal was to get Jonas to the finish safely”.
