Remco Evenepoel's GC dream at this Tour de France may be over. On stage 12 he struggled, on the mountain time-trial he didn't have the legs; and on stage 14 he has been dropped at the start of the first climb of the day and may have cracked completely.

Evenepoel had been dropped on the Col du Soulor on stage 12, the first high mountain of the race, and looked to be out of the fight for the podium. However, he made a stellar comeback and defended himself, remaining on the GC podium which he maintained through the time-trial even though he finished outside the Top10 and did not have good feedback.

It could've been just a bad day but it appears not to be the case. With 108 kilometers to go, on the first kilometers of the Col du Tourmalet, the Tour's white jersey began to drop in the back of the peloton. With a very long way to go on the stage, it may be game over for the leader of Soudal - Quick-Step.
