Remco Evenepoel suffered a moment of stress in the final kilometres of stage 5 at the 2025
Criterium du Dauphiné on Thursday as he crashed, leaving the Maillot Jaune with some visible cuts and abrasions.
Thankfully, as the incident came within the GC safety of the final 5km, the
Soudal - Quick-Step leader didn't lose any time to the rest of his general classification rivals. As mentioned though, when Evenepoel did cross the line, there were some notable scuffs to his Maillot Jaune, signalling a meeting with the tarmac.
Although footage of the crash wasn't clearly visible on the TV coverage of the race, a fan at the roadside has managed to capture the incident in full. The video clearly shows Evenepoel coming down hard right in the middle of the peloton. Whilst Evenepoel and his team have been quick to play down any fears of injury, given the bump he suffered it will be interesting to see how he responds in the mountains this weekend.
