Victor Campenaerts reveals his spring calendar with sole goal in mind: "First get into the Tour de France selection and then win the Tour with Jonas Vingegaard"

Victor Campenaerts' return to Visma | Lease a Bike colours was one of the more interesting transfers of past winter. The Belgian returns to the Dutch team after seven seasons spent with Lotto and Qhubeka. Campenaerts left with vision as one of the best timetrialists in the world at the time, but now he has different goals to, as a teammate witness his teammates triumph at the biggest classics and also the Tour de France.

It has been known for a long time that the Belgian will write first racing kilometers in the 2025 books with a start at a traditional classics-opener: Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne. But more recently he has also revealed his further spring programme during a New Year's ride on the indoor cycling app ROUVY. After that, the 33-year-old will prepare to take on the Paris-Nice. "In this race, a very important time trial awaits me, a team time trial," he indicates.

After the 'Race to the Sun', two important spring classics will follow: Milano-Sanremo and Gent Wevelgem to wrap up a stacked up March. Later, we should also see Campenaerts at the north of Spain during the Itzulia Basque Country.

However there won't be much time to spend sunbathing as the new Visma | Lease a Bike acquisition will travel back to Benelux to contribute to his teammate's ambitions at two of the biggest Ardennes classics: Amstel Gold Race and Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

Campenaerts is not yet making any statements about his further programme, but the rider has made no secret of the fact that he is aiming for a selection for the upcoming Tour de France in recent weeks. "First get into the Tour de France selection and then win the Tour with Jonas Vingegaard as leader. That will not be easy, Tadej Pogacar is also riding very well, but I strongly believe in it," he has confidence in his leader.
