Movistar Team has one professional spot left on its roster and veteran Italian rider Davide Cimolai could fill it. The Italian sprinter of Cofidis could boost the ranks of the team and support Fernando Gaviria.
The transalpine, who has raced for the Cofidis team the last two seasons, is reportedly negotiating a possible arrival to the Spanish team according to the Marca newspaper: "There is nothing signed, but there is interest between the two parties and that agreement could come soon".
The 34-year-old Italian is not the rider that could most excite Movistar Team fans to close their squad. He doesn't get a victory since he took the overall win at the Vuelta a Castilla y León in 2019 and far are the best results of his career with victories in Paris-Nice or Volta a Catalunya.
However, after the departure of veterans such as José Joaquín Rojas and Imanol Erviti, there is no doubt that this is a rider with great experience in grand tours and classics.
