Stage 4 of the Itzulia Basque Country 2024 always promised plenty of drama and sadly that has proved true although in the worst way possible after a horrifically terrifying crash.
The likes of Primoz Roglic, Remco Evenepoel, Jonas Vingegaard, Rigoberto Uran, Sean Quinn and many more all went down incredibly hard into a concrete ditch with all the race's ambulances being required at the scene as a result of the seriousness of the incident, requiring a neutralisation of the race.
UPDATE
It has now been announced that the peloton will ride home in a neutralised manner with no timegaps although the six-man break out front will be allowed to compete for the stage win.
As soon as more information is revealed we will of course keep you updated.

Somehow, it had to come to something like this, it’s more and more obvious something has changed lately in the way they’re racing and a few were already subtly commenting publicly about things.

Is too much pressure being put on leaders or what could it be?

Soon there will be no leaders for anyone left to work for.
