It has been revealed that the
Tour de France will pay tribute to the much-missed
Gino Mäder by opting against issuing the number 61 bib. Instead, Mäder's teammates at
Bahrain - Victorious will instead use the numbers 62-69.
Mäder crashed on a high-speed descent at the recent Tour de Suisse, tragically passing away as a result of the incident. A minute's silence was held during the Bahrain - Victorious team presentation on Thursday in an emotional and poignant moment of quiet before the storm of the Tour de France gets underway.
