Tadej Pogacar's 2024 Giro d'Italia lineup plan formed - Jay Vine and Rafal Majka support pink dream; Juan Sebastian Molano for sprints

Joxean Matxin has talked this afternoon in the UAE Team Emirates camp and from his words emerges already a set plan for the 2024 Giro d'Italia. Tadej Pogacar will lead the team, and there is already a provisional '8' to support his ambitions.

The team's main ambitions continue to lie on the Tour de France as many quality climbers will exclusively focus on it, that is visible from the '8' that is reported from RAI's Stefano Rizzato. Tadej Pogacar will lead the charge to fight for the overall classification and will have the support of Jay Vine, Rafal Majka, Felix Grossschartner and Domen Novak in the mountains.

The team also features Juan Sebastián Molano who will head for the sprints - confirming the team's absence of a sole goal in the race, which will likely be the case in France. Molano will be joined by his leadout man Rui Oliveira who heavily supported him at the recent Vuelta a España, whilst Mikkel Bjerg should also play a role in helping the Colombian and positioning Pogacar simultaneously.

Provisional UAE Team Emirates for Giro d'Italia:

Tadej Pogacar, Jay Vine, Rafal Majka, Felix Grossschartner, Rui Oliveira, Juan Sebastián Molano, Mikkel Bjerg and Domen Novak.
