The news that
Tadej Pogacar will race the
Giro d'Italia have broken through the cycling community. The decision was surely taken during the ongoing training camp of UAE Team Emirates, and the explanations should be given soon. What is your opinion on Pogacar's decision to race the Corsa Rosa?
Pros: Pogacar has raced the Vuelta a España and Tour de France in the past, winning stages in both and the GC on two occasions in France. Racing the Giro gives him an opportunity to already seal an achievement which is of capturing stage wins on all. He will likely be the man to beat for the pink jersey and should not have the competition of neither Jonas Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel who focus on the
Giro d'Italia. If he wins the Giro as well, it would leave only the Vuelta a España left to win in terms of Grand Tours, and combining both in 2024 is very plausible, if the sponsors do not pressure him into still racing the Tour.
