“That victory has given me a bit of faith that I can get
involved in the big one-day races, and if I'm going to win one of them, it will
probably be Milano - Sanremo. So I've ticked that off next year.”
It’s a big statement from the Danish rider, and he’s not the
only one targeting Milano – Sanremo next year. In fact, Tadej Pogacar himself
has expressed how
he wants to win that race more than any other in 2025, as it
is one of the few races that has so far eluded him.
So whilst
Magnus Cort Nielsen has tried his luck on the cobbled classics in
the past, he is certain the Milano – Sanremo will be his best chance. After
all, he has won stages at each and every grand tour, including 2 Tour de France
stages and 6 Vuelta a Espana stages. Why not give Milano–Sanremo a chance?
But can the 31 year old master the first monument of the year, we’ll still have
to wait a few more months to find out.
