Ruben Guerreiro has taken his third pro win, winning the Mont Ventoux Denivelé Challenge today with an impressive performance up the Géant de Provence.
The 154-kilometer long race was very hard but had it's crucial point in the final ascent to Mont Ventoux. The Portuguese launched an attack halfway up the 21-kilometer long climb and quickly showed he was the strongest on the day, building a large gap over the chasing group that thinned down by the minute.
Guerreiro had the power consistently until the finale, crossing the line in comfort, with his own teammate Esteban Chaves finishing second after benefiting from team tactics. Michael Storer had the legs and went on to finish third.
