Two weeks of racing are in the legs at the 2023 Vuelta a Espana and during the first 15 stages, no rider has earned more money than Soudal - Quick-Step's Remco Evenepoel.
Despite his Red Jersey ambitions collapsing on stage 13, the 23-year-old's two victories on stage 3 and stage 14 have helped Evenepoel pull in a very nice total of €42,050 during the race to date. Alongside his two stage wins, Evenepoel has also got a pair of second places under his belt and spent a number of days in the Red Jersey early on.
This impressive prize pool earned by Evenepoel has garnered him over five thousand euros more than the second-biggest earner, Alpecin-Deceuninck's Kaden Groves, the current leader of the points classification. The Aussie sprint star has garnered €36,940 for his efforts at the race so far with a pair of wins on stage 4 and stage 5.
The remainder of the top-5 is rounded out by the all-conquering Jumbo-Visma trio of Sepp Kuss (€24,925), Jonas Vingegaard (€21,135) and Primoz Roglic (€19,470). Their respective prize pots look set to only grow further however, especially as the trio currently hold the top 3 positions in the general classification with just five stages remaining.
