Tom Pidcock has enjoyed a very successful start to life at the
Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, since leaving the INEOS Grenadiers over the off-season. One of the things potentially holding the Brit back in his quest to win a Monument however, is the difference in quality of the support around Pidcock as opposed to his leading Classics rivals.
In a bid to address this concern, the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team are reportedly already being busy in the transfer market yet again. In looking for a better quality of domestique for Pidcock, the ambitious team are also eyeing some notable helpers from
Mathieu van der Poel's
Alpecin-Deceuninck and
Remco Evenepoel's
Soudal - Quick-Step, simultaneously strengthening Pidcock's support whilst weakening his rivals in the big one day races.
As reported by
Het Laastse Nieuws in a Giro d'Italia rest day transfer update, both
Xandro Meurisse and
Quinten Hermans appear to be on their way out of Alpecin-Deceuninck, with both riders reportedly holding offers from Q36.5, with the team presenting an increasingly competitive and appealing sporting project. Also mentioned by HLN is that Yves Lampaert (Soudal - Quick-Step) has also held initial talks with Q36.5, suggesting the team is targeting experienced Belgian talent as it builds for the future.
