The Giro d'Italia Donne will take place from the 6th to the 13th July 2025 and will be one of the key moments in the women's peloton season. The Italian Grand Tour will feature a route from north to south, missing out on the Passo del Mortirolo which was expected, but featuring interesting stages away from the Alps in it's majority. We take a look at it's profiles.

The race features eight stages which feature an individual time-trial in Bergamo where the Grande Partenza will take place, but also provide chances for the sprinters on stages 3 and 5 mostly. Stage 2 will end in Aprica, stage 4 in Valdobbiadene and stage 7 will end atop the Monte Nerone which will be key moments in the battle for the pink jersey, whilst the many hilly days can throw many traps for the riders - including an explosive final day in San Marino.

Stage 1 (ITT): Bergamo - Bergamo, 13.6 kilometers
Stage 1 (ITT): Bergamo - Bergamo, 13.6 kilometers

Stage 1 of the race will take place in Bergamo, close to Milano, and will be a 13-kilometer long time-trial where the first pink jersey will be handed and the GC contenders will straight away enter the battle field.

Stage 2: Clusone - Aprica, 99 kilometers
Stage 2: Clusone - Aprica, 99 kilometers

Stage 2 will be the only day to have a summit finish in the Alps, an unusual format but an interesting one nonetheless. It will not be a brutal day on the bike, however the long and slight ascent to Aprica will be quite an interesting challenge for the climbers.

Stage 3: Vezza d'Oglio - Trento, 124 kilometers
Stage 3: Vezza d'Oglio - Trento, 124 kilometers

The riders exit the Alps but not before climbing the Passo dello Tonale, present at the start of stage 3. This could grounds to explode the peloton, but if not then the sprinters will likely take the chance and fight for the win in Trento with a completely flat finale.

Stage 4: Castello Tesino - Pianezze (Valdobbiadene), 156 kilometers
Stage 4: Castello Tesino - Pianezze (Valdobbiadene), 156 kilometers

Stage 4 features a summit finish in Valdobbiadene, an important day for the overall classification that will also include the ultra-steep ascent of the Muro di ca del Poggio not too far from the finish where there can be surprises.

Stage 5: Mirano - Monselice, 108 kilometers
Stage 5: Mirano - Monselice, 108 kilometers

As flat as it could be, the fifth stage of the race takes place from Mirano to Monselice and the sprinters will be very happy with a day where not much can prevent a bunch sprint.

Stage 6: Bellaria-Igea - Terre Roveresche, 144 kilometers
Stage 6: Bellaria-Igea - Terre Roveresche, 144 kilometers

Stage 6 of the race is a hilly day without a certain script. It can be a day for the sprinters, GC riders and anything inbetween as the day features a lot of different climbs where a lot can happen.

Stage 7: Fermignano - Monte Nerone, 157 kilometers
Stage 7: Fermignano - Monte Nerone, 157 kilometers

Perhaps the queen stage? In the Appeninnes the riders will have a 157-kilometer long stage packed with climbs from start to finish. The differences might only be made in the final climb, but they could be huge. The summit finish in the long Monte Nerone will be very difficult and could be the key moment of the race.

Stage 8: Forli - Imola, 138 kilometers
Stage 8: Forli - Imola, 138 kilometers

Stage 8 will be the final one of the race and it certainly ends with a banger! It will be a 138-kilometer long that which features a final circuit in Imola, with four laps including the two climbs of the 2020 World Championships.

In Mazzolano and the Cima Gallisterna there will be a final opportunity to destroy the race, and it truly won't be over until the riders reach the finish as in this final day anything can happen.
