From the 24th to the 30th of March the World Tour peloton returns to Spain, more specifically Catalunya, for one of the most exciting and difficult stage-races in the calendar. The Volta a Catalunya is always a massive test for the climbers, but equally other riders will also get their opportunities. Here's the prize money available.
The total prize money for the race is of €109.500 which comes together as the sum of all classifications and stage results. The winner of the overall classification takes home €14.000 whilst each stage winner wins €4000, with the first 20 riders across the line and in the GC each day take some sort of financial reward. The winners of the points, KOM and Youth classifications win €1000 whilst the Teams classification winner will take €1500.
