In former Giro d'Italia winner Jai Hindley and the recent Tour de Romandie runner-up Aleksandr Vlasov, Roglic either has considerable strength in his mountain support, or as mentioned, a plan-B/plan-C that can step up should Roglic still be off the pace after a lengthy layoff. With the likes of riders such as
Bob Jungels,
Marco Haller,
Matteo Sobrero and
Nico Denz completing the lineup, it's arguably the strongest team heading into this year's edition of the Dauphine.
Elsewhere though, there is significant strength in the competition also. Fellow potential Maillot Jaune contenders at the upcoming Tour de France such as Remco Evenepoel, Juan Ayuso, Carlos Rodriguez, Sepp Kuss and Matteo Jorgenson among others test their legs ahead of the challenges to come. Notably though, Roglic's former Team Visma | Lease a Bike teammate Jonas Vingegaard, will not be present at the Criterium du Dauphine, as he is still attempting to recover from his injuries in the same, aforementioned crash that took out Roglic at the Itzulia Basque Country earlier in the year.
