The rumors about the possible destination of Primoz Roglic do not stop. Yesterday we published that INEOS Grenadiers is very interested in acquiring the services of the three-time winner of the Vuelta a España and current winner of the Giro d'Italia, today, reports suggest of two other teams involved in the battle for the still Jumbo-Visma rider.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, the rider's representative has reportedly told other teams that he is available to move in 2024 and that Jumbo-Visma would agree to the rider's departure. According to Nieuwsblad, the teams best placed to sign him at the moment would be Movistar Team and Lidl-Trek.
The last detail of this information is that, being still under contract, Jumbo-Visma would ask for financial compensation in exchange for Primoz Roglic. We'll see what happens. Lidl has landed very strongly in cycling and the American team has already signed a long list of quality riders.
The situation at Movistar Team is quite the opposite. The Spanish team has lost riders of the stature of Matteo Jorgenson and needs another leader in a short squad and lack of resources to achieve the goals that obtained with Alejandro Valverde. Enric Mas does not quite make the grade and Primoz Roglic would be the rider in which they would have put the focus to redirect the project;
We will have to see if the telephone company has the money to pay for a rider like the Slovenian rider. We know that they reached an agreement with Carlos Rodriguez, but surely the INEOS rider from Granada is moving in other economic numbers as he is in another phase of his career. We will continue to keep you informed about the future of Primoz Roglic.
