Primoz Roglic back on track for Tour de France - BORA-hansgrohe leader set for three-week training camp in Teide

Primoz Roglic was on his way to have a spotless run-up to the Tour de France; and entered Itzulia Basque Country with storming form and his first win with BORA - hansgrohe. His spring was then turned upside down, but good news emerge from the German team's camp.

Roglic crashed twice during the Basque race, including the mass accident which also left Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel injured. The Slovenian however did not suffer fractures; although he abandoned whilst leading the race. But the effects of the two crashes saw him having to miss out on Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège where he was initially scheduled to race.

Whilst Remco Evenepoel is also back on the bike and should be on schedule for his ideal preparation for the Tour de France, that is not the case with Jonas Vingegaard who is in fact still in doubt for the Grand Boucle. Roglic in the meantime, according to Gazetta dello Sport's Ciro Scognamiglio, will be in Mount Teide from the 10th to 31st May on an altitude camp with several teammates.

Recently, Roglic reconned the gravel stage of the Tour de France. In Teide, he is expected to team up with the likes of Jai Hindley and Aleksandr Vlasov who will be key for BORA's plan ahead of the Tour de France.
