Peter Sagan has had a very complicated start to his new chapter at TotalEnergies, as illnesses have gotten him to struggle with the form he was hoping for ahead of the spring. After taking a break in April, the former three-time World champion has changed his sights onto the Tour de France where he will be at this summer, and has begun preparation for it.
After being given the green light to restart training at the beginning of May, Sagan had very quickly pointed out that a three-week altitude camp in Utah, USA, was part of his run-up plans for the Tour de France. In the past he has travelled several times to the Tour of California at this time of year where he has a tally of 17 stage wins and an overall classification.
The Slovakian national champion has shared on social media pictures of him riding in the town of Park City where he's believed to be based. The city is at an altitude of over 2000 meters, and instead of more popular destinations like Mount Teide or Sierra Nevada, the TotalEnergies rider opted for a more familiar environment.
After this training camp he is scheduled to race the Tour de Suisse and National championships, which will be his final step of preparation towards Le Tour.
