On the individual time-trial of stage 2 at the 2024 UAE Tour, Tim van Dijke was the best placed Team Visma | Lease a Bike rider with aa 12th placed finish, 25 seconds down on the stage winner Brandon McNulty.
"Overall, it was a decent day for us," reflected Team Visma | Lease a Bike sports director Maarten Wynants post-stage, in conversation with his team's official website. "Tim rode a good time trial, which suits him well. His brother Mick van Dijke, Loe van Belle and Bart Lemmen also finished in the top thirty. With Bart, we secretly hoped for more, but in a short and straight time trial like this he couldn't use his strengths to the fullest. This was an fine result."

For the race's general classification, Attila Valter came into the race as the team's fancied rider although a crash at the end of stage 1 threatened to put paid to those ambitions. Thankfully though, the Hungarian seemed all good during his ITT, finishing 22nd on the day at 35 seconds down.
"With yesterday’s crash in mind, Attila managed to perform very well today," Wynants assesses in conclusion. "That certainly offers great prospects for the stages ahead in the coming days. We are looking forward to that."
