Puck Pieterse claims Strava QOM for Coll de Rates on training ride for Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Puck Pieterse is set to make her road debut for 2024 this coming weekend at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and judging by her recent postings to Strava she could very well be one to watch.

After a successful cyclocross campaign this winter that saw the 21-year-old Dutchwoman take four victories and finish on the podium in all but one of her fifteen outings, returns to road racing this weekend for the first time since Strade Biance Donne 2023, almost a full twelve months ago.

Getting herself into shape, Pieterse recently took on the mythical Coll de Rates as part of her training regime, a climb also tackled in training recently by the likes of Tom Pidcock and Mathieu van der Poel. With the Fenix-Deceuninck tackling the climb in a new record time, Pieterse claimed the Strava Queen of the Mountains title for her efforts.

Although having two road outings in the 2023 season, Pieterse showed her immense cross discipline potential by finishing fifth at Strade Bianche Donne. Could a similar showing be set for this weekend at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad WE?
