BORA - hansgrohe exponencially reinforced itself at the end of 2023 by signing Primoz Roglic. However, this did not come at a cost of it's current leaders, and in fact the German team has managed to re-sign
Jai Hindley into a new contract.
This Wednesday the German team confirmed the extension of Hindley and also Florian Lipowitz. The Australian climber won the Giro d'Italia in 2022 and rode in the yellow jersey last year at the Tour de France following a stage win in the first mountain stage. This year, he already finished third at Tirreno-Adriatico, and will be racing the Tour de France alongside Roglic.
“I’m very happy to extend with BORA – hansgrohe. I really appreciate the trust and opportunities that the team has given me so far, and everything the team has done for me," Hindley said in a press release. "They’ve been a huge part of my career and development. It’s really become like a second family for me, and I feel at home here.”
Hindley does not want to leave home, despite the influx of quality climbers into the team which somehow restrict his ability to lead the team by himself in the Grand Tours. “I can’t wait to keep growing and developing, and targeting big goals in the future, which is something that’s always been important for me. We have the same vision, and I’m grateful for the trust they’ve put in me to fulfill this. I can’t wait to continue my journey here.”
