Last week brought
Tirreno–Adriatico and
Paris–Nice, which naturally cements
Isaac del Toro as the year’s top rider in the
UCI WorldTour Ranking. After his win in France,
Jonas Vingegaard climbs to 13th in 2026. Mauro Schmid and Christian Scaroni remain on the podium after their strong start to 2025.
The Mexican from UAE Team Emirates - XRG leads by an enormous margin, almost 800 points. Del Toro is, by some distance, the world’s best rider at the start of 2026, despite skipping Milano–Torino on Wednesday instead of defending last year’s win.
He will race Milano–Sanremo on Saturday as a domestique for Tadej Pogacar, a role he will also play at the Tour de France. In between, he is set to lead at the Volta ao País Basco and the “new” Dauphiné, the Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes.
The top 10 is rounded out by Antonio Tiberi, Matteo Jorgenson, Tobias Lund Andresen (key figures at Tirreno and Nice),
Paul Seixas, Romain Grégoire, Jan Christen and Remco Evenepoel. Tadej Pogacar sits 25th thanks to the 500 points from winning Strade Bianche.

Isaac del Toro poses with the Tirreno–Adriatico trophy
UCI ranking over the last 12 months
The UCI WorldTour ranking over the past twelve months clearly reflects the current hierarchy of professional cycling, with firm control at the top and rising competition behind. The leading figure remains Tadej Pogacar, commanding the list with 11,355 points. His consistency across Grand Tours, Classics and week-long stage races allows him to hold a wide lead over his rivals, cementing his status as the peloton’s absolute reference point.
In second place is Isaac del Toro, one of the standout breakthroughs of recent seasons. The Mexican has delivered a spectacular progression to reach 7,199 points, positioning himself as Pogacar’s main chaser. His presence confirms the depth of UAE Team Emirates - XRG, which clearly dominates the ranking with several riders in prominent positions.
Third place goes to Jonas Vingegaard, on 6,369 points. The Dane remains one of the key names in stage racing, maintaining a solid line that keeps him in contention. While he does not match Pogacar’s totals, his reliability secures his foothold on the ranking podium.
Remco Evenepoel sits fourth after climbing one place. The Belgian has 4,846 points and continues to show his versatility, impressing both in time trials and week-long races. His move to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe adds a fresh context to his performances, but his presence in the top five underlines his stability at the elite level.
Mads Pedersen rounds out the leading group, slipping one spot yet holding 4,817 points. The Dane remains one of the most complete riders for Classics and stages, capable across varied terrain. His consistency keeps him among the best despite pressure from names like Mathieu van der Poel and Joao Almeida, who sit just behind.
