As expected the National Championships didn't create the differences that have been seen in the last few weeks, as the UCI Points ranking has seen little differences created over this calmer week - in anticipation to the Tour de France.
With Team BikeExchange - Jayco and Lotto Soudal literally tied in points in the last update, this could be the week the tide turned for the Belgian team. However it will have to wait, as the gap grew back to 21 points - a meaningless difference, but nevertheless one that keeps Lotto below the red line.
None of the teams managed to score big in the NC's, however the Australian team saw Lawson Craddock take the ITT title in the USA which has made the difference. The week ahead presents no real opportunity to take points up until the start of the Tour de France, where a stage win will be worth 120 points.
Whilst EF Education - EasyPost sits 618 points ahead of BikeExchange, Israel - Premier Tech sit 435 behind Lotto Soudal. Both teams are both very much within the fight for the World Tour spots.
