As is often the case in a stage race of this intensity, the 2025 Vuelta a Espana will no doubt see a number of riders forced to abandon due to crashes, illness, and other racing incidents. Keep track of all incidents and withdrawals throughout the race right here!

Stage 1

Nothing to note.

Stage 2

The stage featured rain and there were several crashes because of it. Guillaume Martin was the first abandon in the race, reportedly suffering a back and head injury. Jorge Arcas suffered a fracture on the hip but continued the race as it doesn't carry much severity. Mauro Aparicio, Magnus Sheffield, Giulio Ciccone and George Bennett also suffered crashes before the main one of the day.
That one featured, at the very least: Jonas Vingegaard, Victor Campenaerts, Axel Zingle, Tom Pidcock, Tim van Dijke, Carlos Canal, Patrick Eddy, Marcel Camprubi and Michel Hessmann. Zingle suffered a shoulder trauma and dislocation.

Stage 3

Both Axel Zingle and Jorge Arcas were DNS overnight because of the after effects of their crashes on stage 2. During the stage itself then, there was only one crash, with both Jardi van der Lee and Harold Martin Lopez seemingly escaping unscathed.

Stage 4

Carlos García Pierna and Valentin Paret-Peintre both abandoned during today's stage. With 11 kilometers to go there was a crash in the peloton involving Jay Vine, George Bennet, Luca van Boven and Fernando Barceló.

Stage 5

Carlos Verona and Matteo Sobrero crashed during the team time-trial. The latter his his head and was evaluated for concussion, but both riders finished the stage.

Stage 6

A trio of DNS at the start of the day with Simon Carr, Pepijn Reinderink and Arjen Livyns all leaving the race. On the stage itself then, despite the rain it was a relatively quiet day with no major crashes to speak of and just Koen Bouwman abandoning.

Stage 7

With rumours of illness running rampant in the peloton, Cristian Rodriguez was a DNS at the start of the day, with both Daniel Cavia and Luca Vergallito also heading home with abandons during the day.

Stage 8

Three more riders were out of the race on stage 8. George Bennett stepped off, feeling the lingering effects of crashes from earlier in the race, whilst British Grand Tour debutant Oliver Knight and Eric Antonio Fagundez also DNF'd.

Stage 9

Arkéa - B&B Hotels' Victor Guernalec was brought down during a wet day, but otherwise relatively quiet.

Stage 10

Casper van Uden didn't start the stage, bringing the sprinter field down yet another level in this Vuelta. During the stage Raul García Pierna, one of the revelations of the race, was forced to abandon due to a crash. Simone Petilli was involved in a crash due to pro-Palestine protestors that swarmed the road with 76 kilometers to go. Matteo Jorgenson, Clément Braz Afonso and Harold Martín López were also involved in falls during the stage.

Stage 11

Ramses Debruyne and Paul Ourselin have not started today's stage whilst Jayco AlUla's Chris Harper did not finish it.

Stage 12

3 riders were involved in a crash (Matthew Riccitello, Ben Turner, Sergio Geovani Chumil), all riders continued.

Stage 13

Archie Ryan did not start the stage due to a glute injury; whilst Pablo Castrillo, Ben O'Connor and Fernando Barceló did not finish it. Antonio Tiberi and William Junior Lecerf were also amongst those who have crashed today.

Stage 14

Sergio Higuita did not start the stage.

Stage 15

More than one rider crashed due to a protestor mid-stage, however only Javier Romo was identified, having suffered lots of abrasions on the left side due to the fall. David González and Magnus Sheffield are also confirmed to have crashed during the day.

Stage 16

Victor Campenaerts and Gianmarco Garofoli did not start today's stage whilst Javier Romo did not finish it, suffering from the injuries of the crash on stage 15. During the stage, Lorenzo Fortunato crashed, suffering minor injuries.

Stage 17

No major events happened during the day. Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team and Tom Pidcock lost an important support rider in Xabier Mikel Azparren who did not finish the stage.

Stage 18

Nothing to note

Stage 19

Louis Meintjes crashed during today's stage, suffering injuries in multiple locations, but finished the stage.

Stage 20

Arne Marit was brought down hard in a early crash, as was Bjoern Koerdt in a separate instance.

Stage 21

In the first road block that affected the final stage, Arkéa's Victor Guernalec was pushed by several protestors when he attempted to go through. Otherwise, the riders did not ultimately start the race competitively.
