Mark Cavendish out of Tirreno-Adriatico - Astana sprinter and Michael Morkov arrive outside time limit

Mark Cavendish had shown difficulties and not having the form throughout the ongoing Tirreno-Adriatico and that proved costly today. The Manxman and leadout man Michael Morkov arrived outside the time limit and have been taken out of the race.

The difficult day saw Team Visma | Lease a Bike push the pace throughout the day to launch Jonas Vingegaard to an attack. The Dane succeeded, but the speed the stage was raced caused casualties. The time limit was 25:01 minutes behind the Dane, the Astana Qazaqstan Team duo arrived 32:38 minutes behind; they will not arrive to the final day of the race which should finish in a sprint.
