For the first time in his career,
Marc Hirschi is heading to the
Giro d'Italia. This has now been officially confirmed, following the announcement that the
Tudor Pro Cycling Team would receive a wildcard for the 2025 edition of the Italian Grand Tour.
Although Hirschi has competed at the Tour de France three times in his career, winning a stage back in 2020, the Swiss star has never previously competed at either the Vuelta a Espana or the Giro d'Italia. As mentioned though, in 2025 that is set to change as he heads to Italy to lead the Tudor Pro Cycling Team's stage hunting charge.
"I'm excited to announce that I'll be lining up at the start of the Giro d’Italia, a race full of tradition and history," says the 26-year-old Hirschi, who swapped UAE Team Emirates - XRG for the Tudor Pro Cycling Team over the recent off-season in the hoping of having more chances for himself in races such as the Grand Tours. "It will be my first time riding the Giro d'Italia, but I feel a strong connection with Italy and I’m really looking forward to taking on the race and chasing stage wins," concludes the Swiss.
