In the men's race it was not even a battle to decide the win. The home World Tour squad had full control of the race, with Luke Plapp and Chris Harper setting off alone early in the race as the two strongest climbers in the hilly circuit. Plapp crossed the line first to win both national titles. Kelland O'Brien sealed the podium for the team arriving third, over six minutes behind.
