Intermarché-Wanty at the Tour de France to win stages with Biniam Girmay, Louis Meintjes, Laurenz Rex and more

Another team has confirmed their 8-man roster for the 2024 Tour de France, with Intermarché-Wanty becoming the latest lineup to be announced.

The team will be led by their biggest name rider, Biniam Girmay. The hero of African cycling made his Tour de France debut in 2023 and although a stage win eluded him, the 24-year-old Eritrean did come third on stage 7 behind Jasper Philipsen and Mark Cavendish in a bunch sprint in Bordeaux. Having made history at the 2022 Giro d'Italia, becoming the first black African to win a Grand Tour stage, Girmay also has proven stage winning capabilities.

With supported and supplemented by the likes of stage winner at the 2019 Tour de France, Mike Teunissen and 26-year-old Belgian sprinter, Gerben Thijssen, the sprint train of the Intermarché - Wanty lineup is certainly something that has a lot of potential.

Another man in the team with proven Grand Tour stage winning legs, is the vastly experienced South African, Louis Meintjes. A Vuelta a Espana stage winner in 2022 and a three time former Tour de France top 10 finisher in the general classification, Meintjes is likely to be the team's main threat from breakaways in the third week, alongside perhaps, the impressive Belgian Laurenz Rex, with Kobe Goossens, Hugo Page and Georg Zimmermann completing the lineup.
