Primoz Roglic arrives at the
Tour de Suisse after his last race at the Tour de Romandie and tackles the event as part of a one‑race‑per‑month schedule. Ahead of the start, the Slovenian assessed his form, outlined his approach, and shared his feelings before a race he considers demanding from the gun.
The Slovenian veteran won't be at the Tour de France after riding the 2025 edition, instead taking a low-key build to the Vuelta a Espana in his bid to win an unprecedented fifth general classification at the Spanish showpiece.
Roglic first explained how he is handling this more spaced‑out planning to his season and his
return to competition in Switzerland: “Yes, it goes by faster this way. In any case, I’m happy to be here, happy to be back in Switzerland and looking forward to racing.”
He also noted that, although this year the opening route runs outside Switzerland, coming back to the country still matters a great deal to him: “Now we’re in Italy, but happy to be back in Switzerland and keen to get going.”
In this edition of the Tour de Suisse, Roglic pointed out it is his first appearance at the race as he hopes to expand his palmares: “Yes, it’s the first time. So it was about time.”
Asked about his form after recent training weeks, the Slovenian was content with his trajectory: “So far so good. Happy, healthy, and I hope to keep it that way through the race.”

Tricky Tour de Suisse for Roglic
Pressed on his goals for the
race, Roglic avoided setting a fixed strategy and stressed the race itself will dictate terms: “The race will tell by itself, according to where we are.”
As for the course, he highlighted the stern start expected on day one with some steep hills making it a hot prospect for puncheurs: “I think tomorrow (Wednesday) will already be a hard stage. It’s a spicy finish, a spicy stage.”
He also anticipated the race will ramp up in difficulty as the days go by: “We have to get through it and I think then there will be a kind of progression towards the weekend. The weekend is the finale.”
Roglic wrapped up by underlining his overall approach, rooted in collective work and day‑by‑day effort: “I’m here simply to give everything, to get everything out of the team with the guys. It will be a good challenge.”
