A third Grand Tour in one season is always a difficult task, but not only his presence,
Sepp Kuss looks to be a key part of
Jumbo-Visma and be part of a third Grand Tour-winning lineup in 2023.
"It's never nice to crash, but I recovered well," Kuss said in a press release, referring to the crash on stage 20 of the Tour which derailed his spot in the Top10 that he was to achieve despite full focus on Jonas Vingegaard. "To do three grand tours in one season is unique and special, but I'm certainly not going to do it every year. It will be a physical challenge, but with my experience at the grand tours, I know when my body needs a rest."
Kuss is a rider that recovers very well but with such a quality lineup, his absence will not be a killer for the Dutch team. He was very valuable for both Grand Tour victories, at the Vuelta, closer to Andorra where he lives, he will be motivated to perform and be helpful in the many mountain stages that will take place.
After a crash at the Tour and two Grand Tours in the legs it's difficult to find the form, but the American is sure that he will be able to find his best level once again. "I wouldn't be here if the team and I didn't think I could be of value. I'm ready, and I'm looking forward to helping Jonas and Primoz," he concluded.
