On the eve of the Vuelta a Espana it has become clear that there is no set leader in Jumbo-Visma. Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard will share their leadership and it will be the road who will decide the rider that becomes the team's priority.
"Every year, the Vuelta has spectacular stages," Roglic said in a press release. "They usually contain intense racing from the start. In this tour, riders don't often wait until the last week to attack, which makes it more interesting."
Roglic is a big fan of the Spanish roads, he is a three-time Vuelta winner and last year was in contention before abandoning in the final week. This year his preparation seems ideal and he's just off the back of winning the Vuelta a Burgos - his fourth win out of four in stage-races this year.
"We have a strong selection. It is too early to say who will be the team’s absolute leader. The goal is to have a Jumbo-Visma rider on the podium in Madrid," Roglic adds. "The form and the legs will determine who will be the leader in the final of the race."
