Biniam Girmay is a sprinter but one who can at times resist the climbs. Today's uphill finish at Tirreno-Adriatico may be too much for the Eritrean, but he will be testing himself against some big names.
"I feel good and have quite a lot of confidence. I think it will be a group sprint, although it is difficult. We are still looking for a win and there are still a few chances to come," the Intermarché-Circus-Wanty rider told VTM this morning.
The hilltop finish at Tortoreto will be 3.2 kilometers long and average 6.9%. It will be ridden three times and hence make it a difficult challenge for those who are not as comfortable with the long effort.
Girmay has shown last season to be able to climb quite well when on good form and today will be a good test for his legs ahead of the spring classics where he will have to tackle tough terrain if he wants to take another big win.
