"I am not afraid of anybody" - Jan Tratnik "happy and excited" with packed schedule ahead - Opening weekend, three weeks of altitude, cobbled classics, Giro, Tour and Olympics

Jan Tratnik has had a super start to the season, contesting for victories at the Vuelta a Murcia and the Volta ao Algarve. He will be a great addition to Team Visma | Lease a Bike's classics squad, and will already be aiming for results this weekend at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne.

“I think I must be happy and excited, this is the answer. With this condition, with this result, I think I am not afraid of anybody, especially with such a strong team. I’m just looking forward to next week," Tratnik told Cyclingnews. "I’m out of contact. It’s quite nice to make some results, so I think I will have some sweet problems.” At current pace, it would be difficult to see the Dutch team not propose a new contract throughout the season, as the Slovenian has been taking stupendous results for a rider who was signed to be a domestique.

Furhtermore, Tratnik is having an incredibly packed schedule, a sign of confidence that the team is putting on him, to support leaders such as Jonas Vingegaard, Wout van Aert and Cian Uijtdebroeks - besides having his own ambitions as has been seen over the past few weeks, and his likely presence at the Olympic Games.

“I will do Opening Weekend now and then I go with Wout [van Aert] and Tiesj [Benoot] to Teide for three weeks. After that, I’ll do three Classics – E3 Harelbeke, Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Tour of Flanders. And then I’ll do the Giro, the Tour and the Olympic Games.”
