Higuita upbeat despite Suisse disaster: "We definitely want to fight for everything here at the Tour de Suisse"

Sergio Higuita managed to finish ninth which gained him the best young rider jersey and moving him to the third position in GC after the end of stage six. "It was a good day for the team, especially after what happened to us today. There were so many emotions and also disappointment after Aleks and Toni had to leave the race, but with today's outcome that changed somewhat," Higuita told the media.
Without the Russian climber BORA were down a major card, however they nevertheless had depth in the finale to Moosalp with Max Schachmann triggering a move in the final kilometers of the ascent, and with Sergio Higuita and Felix Grossschartner arriving together in the limited GC group, staying in contention for the top places.
"We were focused on the race and in the end, it came down to the last climb. We tried to drop the other GC favorites, and Felix and I rode strongly, but Ineos Grenadiers controlled the race very well," Higuita pointed out. "Nevertheless, we both had good legs and reached the finish in good time and we are very happy with that. We definitely want to fight for everything here at the Tour de Suisse". The Colombian is set to start stage seven in third place overall, ten seconds down on Jakob Fuglsang.
