General Classification Standings after Stage 2

The general classification fight sparked into life on stage 2 with pre-race favourite Jonas Vingegaard coming to the fore himself. Although the Dane's late attack was brought back inside the final kilometre, there were big gaps behind, including some notable ones for GC hopefuls, including Adam Yates who crossed the line over 13 minutes down after being caught up in mass crash mid-stage.
The stage was eventually won by Guillermo Thomas Silva of the XDS Astana Team and as a result, the Uruguayan is the new Maglia Rosa, holding a 4 second advantage over Florian Stork, with Egan Bernal leading the pre-race GC contenders, sitting 3rd, also at 4 seconds down.
