General Classification Standings after Stage 1
After a relatively quiet opening stage, the day, and the first Maglia Rosa of the race were decided in a crash-marred final sprint to the line in Burgas.
Emerging victorious through the chaos was Soudal - Quick-Step's Paul Magnier, bagging the first Grand Tour stage win of his career ahead of Tobias Lund Andresen and Ethan Vernon.
Due to bonus seconds taken from their day in the breakaway, both Manuele Tarozzi and Diego Pablo Sevilla also see themselves slightly ahead of the main peloton. As does Antonio Morgado, who snatched bonus seconds at the Red Bull sprint for UAE Team Emirates - XRG. Notably, with the final crash happening within the last 5km safety zone, all riders were given the same time at the line.
