From 81 to 5 - How many races did each World Tour team win in 2024?

When we look at the table of the most successful teams of 2024, we can conclude that there is a supremacy of the big projects over the other teams. UAE Team Emirates has achieved 81 victories this year and this was close to being the year where a pro cycling team has taken the most triumphs.

In collaboration with CiclismoAtual, we have taken a look... UAE Team Emirates' over-investment in Tadej Pogacar is reflected in the team's total number of victories: 81, the third best record ever and, of course, a new record for the team. For his part, the Slovenian cyclist has pocketed 25 victories. Lidl-Trek confirmed its rise to prominence this year with 42 victories, a new team record, to take second place among the teams who have won the most.

The first negative surprise in the table comes at the bottom of the podium. At the end of last year, a lot of ink flowed about Patrick Lefevere's team, Soudal- Quick-Step, and the possible merger with the then Jumbo-Visma. As a result of this impasse (and more), the team ended up neglecting the transfer window and ended up with its worst result since 2011: just 34 wins.

Team Visma | Lease a Bike went from the winningest team in 2023 to off the podium. The team saw many of its riders involved in serious crashes that made it impossible for them to compete for months, and this was reflected in the final result. There were 37 fewer victories than the previous year: 32. In the 5 Monuments of the year, the team didn't manage to get a man into the Top 10 a single time. For a team of Visma's caliber and investment, 2024 was a very, very poor year in the one-day races.

From 81 to 5 - How many races did each World Tour team win in 2024?
Tadej Pogacar contributed to UAE Team Emirates' success with 25 wins in 2024

With the entry of big investors in cycling like Decathlon, the sport is gaining and this has been reflected in the results of the French team. We could talk about the signings or the significant improvements the team has made, but let's stick to the numbers. 30 wins in the year 2024, beating their previous record which dated back to the last century, specifically 1999. It's another case of the French company deciding to invest in the sport and reaping stupendous exposure and dividends compared to larger investments in other sports.

Another team that broke its record for wins in a single season was Israel - Premier Tech, 29. Even though their squad includes a gold-paid cyclist called Chris Froome, who is 'dead weight' for the team and who in 2024 scored 0 UCI points.

Further down the table we have INEOS Grenadiers with 14 wins. The team that has largely dominated the scene over the past decade is in internal turmoil and its year of anguish was summed up by victories in the Amstel Gold Race and the Tour of Romandie (even without winning any stages). Bahrain - Victorious had one of its worst sporting years, winning 13 times, and it was the young Antonio Tiberi who saved the year by winning the Tour of Luxembourg, as well as other good results in his season.

On the World Tour, the worst team of the year was French team Cofidis with... 5 wins. There's little else to add to the team's performances, which along with Movistar Team with 8 wins and Arkéa - B&B Hotels with 9, occupy the lowest places in the 2024 wins table.

Of the PRT teams mentioned above, Israel - Premier Tech was the team with the most wins (29), followed by Uno-X Mobility with 26 and Lotto Dstny with 25.
