For the first time in 2025,
Team Jayco AlUla's
Dylan Groenewegen has managed to add a win to his palmares this Saturday afternoon. The Dutchman powered to the victory in the stage 4 bunch sprint at the 2025
Tour de Hongrie.
Six riders got themselves up the road and into the breakaway of the day, including Kamil Małecki (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team), Diego Pablo Sevilla (Team Polti VisitMalta) and British youngster Louis Sutton (Euskaltel - Euskadi). By 40km to go though, the writing was already on the wall for the break as the peloton closed to within a minute of the leaders on the road. With 29km to go, the peloton completed the catch.
Following the catch of the break, by the time the peloton reached the finishing circuit a bunch sprint seemed the most likely outcome to settle the day. Former European cyclocross champion Michael Vanthourenhout had other ideas though, attempting a flyer inside the final 10km. Ultimately though, there was no denying the sprinters, and in the fight for the line it was Dylan Groenewegen who took the win, emerging clear of
Danny van Poppel and
Tim Torn Teutenberg.
