Davide Cimolai has started 2024 as Movistar Team's main sprinter, although it is expected that he could be Fernando Gaviria's train leader in future races.
The Italian finished tenth in the first stage of the AlUla Tour in a short and flat stage that did not suit his characteristics. Now, before the second stage he has made it clear that he believes he is doing much better and will try to fight for the win.

"I'm sure I like the stage better than yesterday's, long, with 200 kilometers, it suits me better, especially the finish, with a small steep climb I like it a lot."
Carlos Canal, who couldn't make it to the final finish in the first stage, makes clear the team's objective in these first flat days: to be with leader Davide Formolo.
"I feel very, very good, yesterday I had a bit of bad luck, I had a puncture 3.3 km from the finish line and lost some time, but I'll take advantage of the opportunities that remain, be with our leader Formolo, try to be with him and save the windy days and sprints," said Canal before the second stage.
