Nowadays safety in pro cycling has become one of the single most important and also controversial topics. However, it is easy to forget that perhaps the riders face bigger dangers outside of competition, and that is brought forward by Chris Froome who publicly exposed a driver who's been harassing him at home.

It was a very unusual stance taken by the former Tour de France winner, but one that has come after multiple instances of irregular behaviour from a female car driver close to his home in Menton, France.

On Instagram, the Israel - Premier Tech rider has published a story with a picture of the vehicle owned by the woman, showing location and the license plate very clearly. The caption was the following: "This lady tried to drive into me multiple times while I was attempting to pass her. Apparently cyclists are NOT allowed to pass vehicles. Who knew?"

However the story did not end there, as Froome is seemingly aware of who this is and has stories of other pro cyclists who share the same story with this exact same individual. In response to content creator Joe Timms, the Briton explained on X that even Urska Zigart herself has been victim of harassment from this driver.

"Same woman has been terrorizing Urska Zigart," he wrote. "I doubt we are the only ones in the area that have had issues with her. About time she faces the consequences".

In the same line of thought, Froome - who crashed at the UAE Tour and suffered a fractured collarbone - shared that he is back to full-on training and that he will also be back to competition soon at the Tour of the Alps. The 39-year old's schedule for later in the year is not known, but there is a possibility that he will race the Vuelta a España, and the Israeli team's presence was confirmed this morning.
