Ben Tulett is one of INEOS Grenadiers' many developing talents, and he continues to show his versatility and talent. A specialist in the hilly races, he also thrives against the clock, and has used those skills to net his first stage-race win at the Tour of Norway.
“The prologue was of course already very good. This immediately put me high in the standings," Tulett said following the final day of the Norwegian race. "It's my first GC win with the pros. In other words, this is a big moment in my career. I can't complain, I'm very happy with this week. My teammates really went through the fire for me to get a good result. I am very grateful to them for that.”
INEOS was the team to beat throughout the four days of racing, but no team could dethrone them. Tulett took a strong win in the opening prologue closely followed by teammate Magnus Sheffield, the duo had a meaningful gap to everyone else. All three hilly days of racing were attacked but ultimately ended in sprints. Having sprinted to third on stage 2 he expanded his lead on Sheffield, and the remaining days he just had to arrive safely to the finish.
“Whether this is a harbinger for much more? We have to see that. I am intrinsically a classification rider, but we have to wait and see. But, of course, the motivation is there," the Briton concluded. The 21-year old is building good form after also finishing second in the Tour de Hongrie, towards the Tour de Suisse where he will also be testing his legs in the Alpine ascents.
