Quinten Hermans won the queen stage of the
Baloise Belgium Tour as the hilly route put race leader Mads Pedersen under difficulties. Whilst the
Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux rider took the stage win,
Mauro Schmid took over the race lead.
The queen stage of the race was heavily attacked, and a group of six riders eventually went off the front inside the final 50 kilometers. There wasn't enough firepower and collaboration in the peloton to reel it back, so a group containing Mauro Schmid,
Tim Wellens, Victor Campenaerts, Lorenzo Rota, Quinten Hermans and Dries de Bondt went to fight for the stage win.
