Having made her decision to retire from professional cycling at the end of last year after winning both the Giro d’Italia Donne and La Vuelta Femenina in her final season. The former Dutch rider has continued to race despite being retired, as she won the Transcordilleras gravel race in Colombia last month.
However, she has now decided to make the step into punditry, as she is set to cover Gent-Wevelgem for Sporza later this month, as well as the Amstel Gold Race, the Dutch National Championships, the Olympic Games, the World Championships and the Tour de France Femmes for NOS later in the season.
According to a report by Cycling Online, two-time World Road Race Champion will likely play a similar role as Tom Dumoulin does for the men’s racing, working as an analyst to break down the winning moves and look at the key attacks that were decisive in the outcome of a race.
