Strade Bianche is a beautiful race but also a very risky and dangerous one. The lack of traction from the gravel roads, the tension and narrow course led to plenty falls.
Tadej Pogacar took the spotlight due to his dramatic fall, but dozens of riders crashed throughout the day and there have been at least five riders whose teams have confirmed a fracture as a result.
Tadej Pogacar crashed with 52 kilometers to go, not suffering fractures as a result but having a lot of road rash.
Michal Kwiatkowski crashed in the very same corner and was forced to abandon the race as a result, as well with no fractures but a lot of road rash.

Mathias Vacek of Lidl-Trek was one of the most highly anticipated riders at the start of the race but didn't get to contest it after falling early in the race and requiring five stitches to the knee.

Romain Grégoire was also one of the pre-race favourites but was involved in a crash.
Team Picnic PostNL suffered a major casualty as it's leader
Max Poole has suffered a fractured collarbone. Not only was he forced to abandon, but it also jeopardizes his preparation for the Giro d'Italia.
Decathlon has seen
Stan Dewulf fall after being in the day's breakaway and has suffered a collarbone fracture.
Francesco Busatto of Intermarché - Wanty was one of the most marking figures at the finish line,
arriving with a bloody face but in a respectable 48th place.
Arjen Livyns of Lotto arrived at the finish line in similar condition after sustaining a blow to the head.

Emiel Verstrynge had a bad first day in a World Tour event, falling and also suffering a collarbone fracture.
Polti's
Javier Serrano had been in the breakaway of the day but crashed, suffering a wrist fracture. Despite this he continued the race, but was later forced to abandon.
*Between one or two more dozen riders have reportedly crashed and suffered minor injuries, but with no fractures having been reported.
