2025 Giro d'Italia Prize Money Distribution - How over €1.6 million will be distributed between the riders

From the 9th of May to the 1st of June, the world of cycling will be glued to the screens for the first Grand Tour of the season: the Giro d'Italia. From Albania to a mini Strade-Bianche to the high Alps, the race will provide spectacle in all kinds of terrains. Here's the prize money available.
The total amount of prize money that will be distributed throughout the 21 stages of the Giro d'Italia is of an estimated €1.6 million. This will be given as a basis of the following classifications: Overall; Points; KOM; Youth and Teams. Furthermore, prizes are attributed for the Intermediate sprints, Intergiro, longest breakaways and combativity awards.
Stage Results
Everyday, the winner of the stage will win over €11.000 in prizes. The first 20 riders to cross the finish line will, in some way, win something. Every single day then, €27.540 will be handed out from this result.

Final overall classification
The overall classification is given on the basis of two different awards, one given from the race organization and one coming from special rewards for the riders. The winner of the overall classification will win €265.668 when both are added; and all the riders present in the Top20 will also receive some sort of compensation.

Final points Classification
When it comes to the points classification, the winner will receive €10.000. The Top5 receive prize whilst everyday the rider who wins the most points will gain €700.

The KOM - or mountains - classification will see the Top5 make money at the end of the race, with the winner winning €5000, whilst the best scoring rider everyday wins €700.
