The ascent of the Puy de Dome did not make the expected differences between the men in the general classification, but once again made it clear that Tadej Pogacar seems to be in good shape and that Jonas Vingegaard is currently a step behind the Slovenian rider who, for the second consecutive stage, took some time off him at the finish line;

In the fight for third place on the podium. Jai Hindley lost a few seconds to Carlos Rodriguez who is firmly established in the elite and only lost some time in the final rush to Simon Yates and his teammate Tom Pidcock;

More time was lost by Adam Yates (still in the top 5), David Gaudu and Romain Bardet, who remain in the top 10 along with Sepp Kuss.

Here is the general classification of the Tour de France before the first rest stage.
